Isn’t this how it always goes?
I make a post after a while saying “I’m hoping to post more!” and then it never comes to fruition. Sounds familiar if you ask me. 2024 is the year I commit and force myself to write no matter how short, shitty, or outdated it feels. But I also don’t want this to be a solo adventure anymore.
I’ve reached out to some friends who I believe have incredibly interesting opinions and/or skill with getting those opinions into words. My hope is that this can become a collaborative space that encourages conversation and community because that’s what stories are for.
Alongside that, we’ve got a new name!! Which is terrifying because I have been “The Grumpy Dragon” for so long and I’m torn because it feels obligatory to hold onto it. There’s an element of nostalgia that makes change bittersweet. But – and I’ve always known this – there is nothing telling about that name. It doesn’t provide anyone any kind of insight into what a reader or visitor could expect and maybe that’s required if I want this corner of the internet to grow. So I am happy and baffled to introduce you to this crazy ‘rebrand’:
~Draconic Musings~
You didn’t think I would completely let the dragon thing go did you?
Dragons hoard treasure. That treasure could be knowledge, material possessions, or maybe the insatiable desire for more of the world, more to sink your teeth into. And that restlessness, coupled with fierce protection, is not dissimilar from how I feel when I become thoroughly engrossed with something.
I realize I might’ve just glamorized hyper fixation…whatever. Dragons are neurodivergent icons.
A blog is a place for musings, and that is my favorite thing to do on here.
But as mentioned, I want to share it more than before, so…
This is your formal invitation to join me and share your musings:)
Starting a blog or a website or anything can be intimidating or just seem like a lot of work if you’re not already interested in doing it. So I want this to be a space where others can share their musings. Reviews that deserve to be lengthier than what people want to read on GoodReads / Storygraph / Letterboxd etc or a new experience you just had, a favorite place you want to share more about, a topic you have so much knowledge on but feel like there isn’t anywhere to put it, bring it on!
I’m gonna include my contact form right down here that is open 24/7 and I hope we can write some crazy stories together.
